10 tips that your body needs a massage
This is the time of year when with the weather changing, people start to get colds and flu. So is there anything you could do to protect yourself and to limit the spread of these germs?
Yes, there is and it is so simple!
Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water. (From your hands to your elbows there could be 2 to 10 million germs.)
(Note: It doesn't even have to be hot water - in fact that hot water contributes to the development of dry skin from frequent washing. You don't have to use special anti-microbial soap. Some say that the use of anti-microbial soap is contributing to increased anti-biotic resistant germs.)
Having washed your hands - dry your hands!
(Damp hands can quickly pick-up germs and spread them around.)
When should you be washing your hands?
After going to the toilet (There are some shocking statistics that show 30% of people don't do this!)
After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
Wash your hands before preparing food and before you eat.
(Please note this is a short incomplete list. Just think of where your hands have been and maybe you will want to wash them!)
What else can you do to limit the spread of cold and flu germs?
Use a tissue to cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough.
After using a tissue, remember to throw it out as germs can live for at least 3 hours, some can last longer.
So there you have it. Develop the habit of washing your hands regularly and you can help keep those cold and flu germs away! You will also be helping to protect those around you from those germs as well!
