Massage in Schools Programme

The Massage in Schools Programme is an international programme that is designed to bring nurturing touch into the classroom. Children from the age of 4 to 12 years are instructed in a very simple, clothed massage routine. The massage is a child to child massage routine, i.e. children watch the instructor and then practice on each other.
This type of touch has been shown to reduce stress in the classroom for both children and teachers. Children gain a sense of self-esteem. Levels of bullying decrease.
Teachers experience a calmer class environment and lower noise levels. Lessons are more enjoyable.
Parents find that their child is calmer when coming home from school. Children tend to sleep better at night. Sibling relationships improve.
