What is new
February 2012, myofascial release further studies
I will be doing more studies with Ruth Duncan of Myofascial Release UK. The next course will be looking at doing myofascial release work on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ for short). In plain English, this is your joint that allows your jaw to move so that you can talk and chew. I'll be able to tell you more about the benefits of working on the TMJ after I have done the course.
November 2011, myofascial release lower body
- advanced techniques
I have been expanding my knowledge of myofascial release methods for the lower body with a course run by Ruth Duncan of Myofascial Release UK. The two day course included releases to help balance the sacrum and the pelvis. This type of work helps with hip problems, lower back pain, pelvic imbalance, pelvic pain. Releases were also performed on the legs which helps with hip, knee, ankle, and foot issues such as knee, ankle, and foot pain. There was some elegant work to help release the knee. It is quite nice to do and wonderful to receive.
Do your knees creak as you bend? Do your knees feel painful or uncomfortable? Contact me and book a session!
Do you feel that your body is slightly twisted? Is it harder to turn to one side or the other? Myofascial techniques help to release these twists. Since the back "sits on top of the sacrum", the pelvis needs to be balanced, for the back to move more easily. Working on the pelvis also helps free restrictions in your hips.
