Which therapy?
Why provide a range of therapies?
Bodies are different. A therapy that helps one person may not be right for someone else. For instance, some people like very deep work as they think there is "no gain without pain". Other people find this approach too painful. They may avoid having a massage for this very reason. This is not my approach, the therapy is provided so that it is comfortable for you, the client and only you know your body!
Bodies change over time. The massage session that was right for you on one occasion, might not be right for you on another occasion. For instance, if you have just suffered a muscle strain or bruise, the massage session will be modified. The injured area will initially require more gentle work. On a following visit, and as the tissue recovers, more targeted work can be done on the area to promote healing. If you have a more chronic condition, a different approach will be taken.
With a range of massage/bodywork therapies available, I can select the one that is suitable for you at this moment in time.
The treatments range from being very gentle and soothing: the Bowen Technique to being quite strong and possibly uncomfortable: the Rossiter System.
Some treatments can be done through the clothing: Bowen, Rossiter, chair massage, rhythm/mobility. Some treatments maybe done using oils or lotions: sports and therapeutic massage. Some treatments are done without lotion: myofascial release.
Some people know what therapy they want. Some people just want to feel better.
Have a look at the therapy list. Is there one that you specifically want? Is there one that you like the sound of and would like to try? (Depending on your medical history/condition, some techniques may be not be appropriate.)
If you don't know what you want, that is fine. On my initial visit, I do a health screening review. Based on this information, I'll suggest various approaches with you. I will then design a bodywork session to suit your current needs.
